How To Cook Steak Cast Iron

All you need to know about: How To Cook Steak Cast Iron.

Ingredients

-One steak, about 1 inch thick
-2 tablespoons of oil
-Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat for at least 10 minutes. This will ensure that your steak cooks evenly.

2. Rub the steak with oil on both sides.

3. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the steak.

4. Place the steak in the pan and press down gently. Cook for 2 minutes on each side.

5. Flip the steak over and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.

6. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak. The ideal temperature for medium-rare steak is 130 degrees F.

7. Once the steak is cooked to your desired temperature, remove it from the pan and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.

Tips

-Be sure to let the steak rest for several minutes before cutting into it, as this will allow the juices to redistribute and make the steak more tender.
-Be careful not to overcook the steak, as the cast iron skillet will get very hot and can easily burn the steak.
-If you want to add some flavor to the steak, try adding some garlic, rosemary, or thyme to the pan before cooking.
