Ingredients
1 (3-4 pound) top round roast
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Rub the roast all over with the olive oil, then season with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
3. Place the roast in a roasting pan or Dutch oven and place in the preheated oven.
4. Roast the top round roast for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, or until a thermometer inserted into the center of the roast registers at least 145°F.
5. Remove the roast from the oven and transfer to a cutting board. Let the roast rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips
For a bit of extra flavor, add fresh rosemary, thyme, and/or sage to the roast before roasting. You could also add some onions, carrots, and celery to the roasting pan to infuse the roast with extra flavor.
