Ingredients

– 2-3 lb. bone-in rib roast
– 1 tablespoon of coarse ground black pepper
– 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
– 2 tablespoons of sea salt
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 1 cup of beef broth

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
2. Remove the rib roast from packaging and pat dry with paper towels.
3. Place the roast on a cutting board, and season it generously with black pepper, garlic powder and sea salt.
4. Rub the seasoning into the roast evenly.
5. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
6. Add the olive oil and butter to the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom of the pan.
7. Add the rib roast to the skillet and sear it until it’s golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and roast for 20 minutes.
9. After 20 minutes, reduce the oven temperature to 325°F and add the beef broth to the skillet.
10. Roast for an additional 45 minutes or until the internal temperature of the roast reaches 140°F.
11. Once cooked, remove the skillet from the oven and transfer the roast to a cutting board.
12. Let the roast rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
