How To Cook Pot Roast In Crock Pot

Pot roast is a classic comfort food that can be cooked in the slow cooker for a delicious and easy meal. With the help of a crock pot, you can make a pot roast that is tender and flavorful, with minimal effort and time. Here’s how to cook a pot roast in the crock pot.

Ingredients

-3-4 pounds of beef chuck roast
-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
-1 large onion, diced
-3 cloves of garlic, minced
-2 cups of beef broth
-1 tablespoon of tomato paste
-1 teaspoon of dried thyme
-1 teaspoon of dried oregano
-2 bay leaves
-1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
-1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
-Salt, to taste

Instructions

1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the beef chuck roast to the skillet and brown on all sides for about 4-5 minutes.
3. Remove the roast from the skillet and transfer to the crock pot.
4. Add the onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Add the beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, oregano, bay leaves, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and salt to the skillet and bring to a boil.
6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes.
7. Pour the sauce over the beef in the crock pot and cover.
8. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-6 hours.
9. Once the roast is cooked to desired tenderness, remove from the crock pot and slice or shred into desired pieces.
10. Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, or in sandwiches. Enjoy!
