How To Cook A Roast In Crockpot

All you need to know about: How To Cook A Roast In Crockpot.

Preparing the Roast

Before you begin to cook, you’ll need to prepare the roast. Start by rinsing the roast off with cold water and then drying it with paper towels. Once it’s dry, season the roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and any other seasonings you prefer.

Browning the Roast

Once the roast is seasoned, it’s time to brown it. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon or two of olive oil. Place the roast in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it’s nicely browned.

Adding the Ingredients to the Crockpot

Once the roast is browned, transfer it to the crockpot. Add 1 cup of beef broth or stock and 1 cup of red wine (or 1/2 cup of each). Then add any vegetables you’d like to cook with the roast, such as potatoes, carrots, and onions.

Cooking the Roast

Once the ingredients are added to the crockpot, cover and set the temperature to low. Cook for 8-10 hours, or until the roast is tender and falling apart.

Serving the Roast

Once the roast is cooked through, remove it from the crockpot and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with the vegetables and pan juices. Enjoy!
