Ingredients:

– 2 cups of long-grain white rice
– 2 ½ cups of water
– 1 teaspoon of salt

Instructions:

1. Begin by measuring out 2 cups of long-grain white rice. Transfer it to a medium-sized pot or saucepan.
2. Add 2 ½ cups of water and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir to combine.
3. Place the pot over high heat and bring the mixture to a rapid boil.
4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.
5. Allow the rice to cook for approximately 17 minutes.
6. After 17 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit in the pot with the lid still on for an additional 5 minutes.
7. Once the 5 minutes have elapsed, remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
8. Serve the stovetop rice hot and enjoy!
