How To Cook Perfect Rice

All you need to know about: How To Cook Perfect Rice.

Step 1: Measure the Rice

Start by measuring out the desired amount of rice. Generally, a cup of uncooked rice will make about three cups of cooked rice. When cooking a large batch of rice, use a larger pot to prevent the boiling water from bubbling over the sides.

Step 2: Rinse the Rice

Rinsing the rice will remove any dirt or debris as well as some of the starch. This will help to make the cooked rice less sticky and easier to work with. Place the measured rice in a fine mesh strainer and rinse it with cold water. Swish the rice around with your fingers for about 30 seconds then drain the water.

Step 3: Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring the desired amount of water to a rolling boil. Depending on the type of rice you are cooking, you may want to add a pinch of salt to the boiling water. This will help to enhance the flavor of the cooked rice. For every cup of uncooked rice, use two cups of water.

Step 4: Add the Rice

Once the water is boiling, slowly add the rinsed rice to the pot. Stir the rice with a wooden spoon to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

Step 5: Reduce the Heat and Simmer

Once all of the rice is added to the pot, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid. Simmer the rice for about 20 minutes, or until all of the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.

Step 6: Remove the Pot from Heat and Fluff the Rice

Once the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and remove the pot from the stove. Let the rice sit for about five minutes before fluffing it with a fork. This will help to separate the grains and make for a fluffier texture.

Step 7: Enjoy!

Your perfectly cooked rice is now ready to be enjoyed. Serve it with your favorite dish or use it as a side dish. Enjoy!
