How To Cook A Spiral Ham In Oven

All you need to know about: How To Cook A Spiral Ham In Oven.

Step 1: Preheat Your Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F. This will ensure that your spiral ham cooks evenly and doesn’t dry out.

Step 2: Prep the Ham

Take your spiral ham out of the packaging and discard any glaze packet or instructions included. Place the ham on a roasting pan or baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cut off any excess fat from the ham and score the remaining fat in a diamond pattern.

Step 3: Apply a Glaze

For extra flavor, you can apply a glaze to the ham. Mix together 1/2 cup of orange juice, 1/4 cup of honey, 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves in a small bowl. Brush the glaze over the top of the ham.

Step 4: Bake the Ham

Place the ham in the preheated oven and cook for 1-1/2 hours. Baste the ham with the glaze every 20 minutes or so.

Step 5: Check the Internal Temperature

Check the internal temperature of the ham with a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should be 140°F. If it’s not done yet, continue baking for 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.

Step 6: Let the Ham Rest

Once the ham has reached the desired internal temperature, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes. This will ensure that the juices stay in the ham and it doesn’t dry out.

Step 7: Serve

Once the ham has rested, carve and serve. Enjoy!
