Ingredients:

Tomahawk steak

Salt

Pepper

Garlic powder

Preparation:

Before cooking the Tomahawk steak, you will need to prepare it. Take the Tomahawk steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature. Pat the steak dry with a paper towel, then season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Lightly oil the steak with a high smoke point oil, such as vegetable oil or canola oil.

Cooking the Tomahawk Steak:

1. Preheat the gas grill to high heat.
2. Place the steak on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
3. Use an instant read thermometer to check for doneness. The internal temperature should register 135 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare.
