How To Cook Steak In Skillet

All you need to know about: How To Cook Steak In Skillet.

Prepping The Steak

Before you begin cooking your steak, it’s important to properly prepare it. Start by removing the steak from the refrigerator and allowing it to come to room temperature for about 20 minutes. This will help the steak cook more evenly. Once the steak is at room temperature, season it generously with salt and fresh cracked pepper on both sides.

Heat The Skillet

When you’re ready to cook, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon or two of oil to the skillet, and then add the steak. If your steak is thicker than 1-inch, you may want to sear it for a few minutes on each side first before continuing with the recipe.

Cook The Steak

Once the steak is in the pan, reduce the heat to medium and cook for about 4 minutes. Flip the steak over and cook for another 4 minutes for medium-rare. If you like your steak more well done, cook the steak for an additional 1-2 minutes on each side.

Rest The Steak

Once the steak is cooked to your desired doneness, remove it from the skillet and place it on a plate. Cover the steak with a piece of foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a juicier steak.

Serve & Enjoy

After the steak has rested, it’s time to serve and enjoy. Slice the steak against the grain and serve it with your favorite sides. Enjoy!
