How To Cook Roast In Instapot

Roast is a classic family favorite, and with the Instapot, you can make it in a fraction of the time. This recipe yields a tender and flavorful roast with very little effort.


-3-4 pound chuck roast
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
-1 tablespoon olive oil
-1/2 cup beef broth
-2 cloves garlic, minced
-1 onion, diced
-2 carrots, diced
-1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley


1.Season the roast with the salt and pepper.

2.Turn the Instapot to the sauté setting and heat the olive oil.

3.Add the roast to the Instapot and brown on all sides, about four minutes per side.

4.Add the beef broth, garlic, onion, and carrots.

5.Secure the lid and turn the vent to the sealing position.

6.Select the meat/stew setting and cook for 45 minutes.

7.When the timer beeps, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes.

8.Carefully open the lid and remove the roast to a cutting board.

9.Shred the roast and return to the Instapot.

10.Taste and adjust seasoning, if necessary.

11.Garnish with fresh parsley.


Serve the roast over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice. Enjoy!
