– 5-7 lb rib roast
– 1 tablespoon kosher salt
– 2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 2 tablespoons olive oil


1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).

2. Place the rib roast in an oven-safe baking dish.

3. Drizzle the roast with the olive oil.

4. In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

5. Rub the mixture all over the roast.

6. Place the roast in the preheated oven and cook for 20 minutes.

7. Reduce the heat to 350°F (177°C) and cook for 60 minutes.

8. After the 60 minutes, check the internal temperature of the roast. It should reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

9. If the roast has not reached the desired temperature, continue to cook for 10-15 minutes at a time, checking the internal temperature each time.

10. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

11. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
