How To Cook Artichoke

Ingredients

– 2 medium-sized artichokes
– 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

1. Begin by washing the artichokes with cold water.
2. Cut off the stem of the artichoke, then cut the top 1/3 of the artichoke off.
3. Peel off the tough outer leaves of the artichoke.
4. Using a paring knife, trim away any remaining tough leaves or dark spots.
5. Using a spoon, scoop out the fuzzy center of the artichoke.
6. Place the artichoke in a bowl of cold water with the lemon juice and let sit for 10 minutes.

Cooking

1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the artichokes to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes, turning them occasionally.
3. Add the garlic, salt and pepper, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
