This classic holiday dish is easy to make and can be served with a variety of accompaniments, from mashed potatoes and green beans to salads and roasted veggies. Here’s everything you need to know about prepping and cooking a spiral ham.

-1 spiral ham, thawed
-Kosher salt
-Freshly ground black pepper
-Optional additional seasonings

-Baking dish
-Aluminum foil
-Meat thermometer

1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
2. Take the spiral ham out of its packaging and place it in a baking dish. Sprinkle the ham generously with salt and pepper (you can also add other seasonings, like garlic powder, if desired).
3. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven.
4. Bake the ham for approximately 15 minutes per pound. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the ham when it’s finished cooking. The ham is ready when it reaches an internal temperature of 140°F.
5. Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
