Ingredients Needed

1 Ham Shank

2 cloves of garlic

1 onion

1 cup of brown sugar

1 teaspoon of ground cloves

1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon of ground mustard

1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup of water

Steps to Prepare

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

2. Peel and mince the garlic and onion; set aside.

3. Place the ham shank in a roasting pan, fat side up.

4. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cloves, pepper, cinnamon and mustard.

5. Rub the mixture over the entire surface of the ham shank.

6. Sprinkle the garlic and onion over the top of the ham shank.

7. Pour the vinegar and water over the top of the ham shank.

8. Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil.

9. Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and bake for 2 hours.

10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes.

Serving
