How To Cook Roast Beef

Nothing is quite as satisfying as a perfectly cooked roast beef. Roast beef is a classic, easy to prepare, and delicious dish that is sure to be a hit at any dinner table. Here’s how to cook the perfect roast beef.

Ingredients

2-3 lb beef roast (rump, sirloin, or shoulder roast)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt & pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.

2. Rub the roast with olive oil and generously season with salt and pepper.

3. Place the roast in a roasting pan and cook for 25 minutes.

4. Reduce the oven temperature to 325 degrees F and continue cooking for 1-2 hours, or until the internal temperature of the roast reaches 145 degrees F (medium rare) or 160 degrees F (medium).

5. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips

For the best results, use a meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature of the roast. This will help ensure that the roast is cooked to the desired doneness.

If the roast starts to brown too quickly, cover it with foil while cooking.

Roast beef pairs nicely with a variety of side dishes such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a simple green salad.
