Cube Steaks With Mushroom Gravy
Cube steaks are a great way to enjoy tender, juicy steak without spending a lot of money. This cube steak recipe is a classic and so easy to prepare. Serve it with mashed potatoes or egg noodles and a side of steamed vegetables.
Ingredients:
– 4 cube steaks
– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
– 1/2 cup beef broth
– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Place the steaks on a plate and season both sides with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with flour and gently press the flour into the steaks.
3. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the steaks and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
4. Transfer the steaks to a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
5. Meanwhile, in the same skillet, add the mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
7. Pour the mushroom gravy over the steaks.
8. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
