How to Cook Yellow Rice

• 2 cups of long-grain white rice
• 4 cups of water
• 2 tablespoons of butter
• 2 tablespoons of turmeric
• Salt, to taste


1. Begin by rinsing the rice thoroughly. Place the rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse it under cold water for about a minute.
2. Place the rinsed rice in a large pot and add the 4 cups of water.
3. Add the butter and the turmeric to the pot and stir to combine.
4. Bring the pot to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.
5. Cover the pot and let the rice simmer for 20 minutes.
6. After 20 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes.
7. Uncover the pot and fluff the rice with a fork. Taste the rice for seasoning and add salt, if desired.
8. Serve the yellow rice and enjoy!
