How to Cook Spare Ribs

Spare ribs are a classic barbeque dish that will have everyone coming back for seconds. With the right preparation, cooking and finishing touches, you can make your spare ribs the best on the block. Here’s how to do it.

Ingredients

– 2 slabs of pork spare ribs
– Your favorite dry rub
– Your favorite BBQ sauce

Instructions

1. Begin by prepping the ribs. Remove the thin membrane on the back of the ribs. This will help them cook more evenly and allow the rub to penetrate.

2. Generously apply your favorite dry rub to both sides of the ribs. Make sure to get the rub into all of the cracks and crevices.

3. Heat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the ribs on the grill, bone-side down and cook for about 10 minutes.

4. Flip the ribs over and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook for about 45 minutes. During this time, baste the ribs with your favorite BBQ sauce.

6. Once the ribs have cooked for 45 minutes, remove them from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Serving

Serve the spare ribs with your favorite sides such as coleslaw, potato salad and cornbread. Enjoy!
