How To Cook Short Ribs

Short ribs are a type of meat that is full of flavor and can be cooked in a variety of ways. The most common way to cook short ribs is to slow-roast them in the oven or slow cook them in a crock pot. This method of cooking results in tender, juicy and flavorful short ribs.


– 4 to 5 lbs of beef short ribs
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon of onion powder
– 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
– 2 teaspoons of kosher salt
– 1 teaspoon of black pepper
– 1 cup of beef broth or water
– 2 tablespoons of tomato paste


1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
2. Rinse the short ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper.
4. Rub the mixture onto the short ribs and set aside.
5. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
6. Once the oil is hot, add the short ribs to the skillet and sear them on all sides until they are nicely browned.
7. Once the short ribs are browned, add the beef broth or water and the tomato paste to the skillet.
8. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low.
9. Cover the skillet with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven.
10. Cook the short ribs in the oven for 2 to 3 hours or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone.
11. Serve the cooked short ribs with your favorite sides. Enjoy!
