2. Pat the scallops dry with a paper towel.

3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil and swirl it around the pan.

4. Once the oil is hot, season the scallops with salt and pepper.

5. Place the scallops in the skillet and cook for 2 minutes.

6. Flip the scallops and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

7. Add the butter and swirl it around the pan.
