How To Cook Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a nutritious and hearty breakfast that is easy to prepare. It is made from oats that are processed into flakes, and is a great source of dietary fiber, minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. Oatmeal is usually cooked with water, but can also be cooked with milk or other liquids for a creamier texture.

Ingredients

-1 cup of oats
-2 cups of water
-Pinch of salt
-Optional Add-ins: sugar, butter, honey, fruits, nuts, etc.

Instructions

1. Place the oats, water and salt in a medium saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
3. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Remove from the heat and let it sit, covered, for a few minutes.
5. Add in any desired add-ins, such as butter, honey, or fruit.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
