Ingredients and Supplies You Need:

– 1-2 pounds of smoked neck bones
– 1 onion, chopped
– 2 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon of cumin
– 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder
– 1 teaspoon of salt
– 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
– 2 tablespoons of olive oil
– Large pot with lid

Instructions:

1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is softened.

3. Add the smoked neck bones to the pot and sprinkle with the cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. Stir to coat the neck bones in the seasonings.

4. Add enough water to the pot to just cover the neck bones.

5. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1-2 hours, until the neck bones are fork tender.

6. Remove the lid and let the liquid reduce until it is a thick sauce.

7. Serve the neck bones with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!
