How To Cook Fresh Corn Off The Cob

All you need to know about: How To Cook Fresh Corn Off The Cob.

Instructions

1. To begin, select some fresh ears of corn. Look for ears with husks that are green and tight, and silk that is not dried out or overly brown.

2. Peel back the husk and remove any silks that remain attached to the ear. Then, rinse off the ear of corn in cold water.

3. After rinsing, place the ears of corn in a large pot filled with cold water.

4. Place the pot over high heat and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and allow the corn to simmer for 5 minutes.

5. After 5 minutes, remove the pot from the heat and let the corn cool in the pot for about 10 minutes.

6. Once the corn is cool enough to handle, use a sharp knife to cut off the kernels from the cob.

7. Place the corn kernels in a bowl and discard the cobs.

8. To add flavor to the corn, melt some butter in a pan over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the corn to the pan.

9. Sauté the corn for about 5 minutes, or until the kernels start to turn a light golden brown.

10. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve the corn warm.

Tips and Tricks

If you’re looking to add some extra flavor to the corn, try adding garlic, onions, or herbs to the pan while sautéing. You can also add some grated cheese to the corn while it’s still warm to give it an extra cheesy kick.
