How To Cook Fettuccine Noodles

Fettuccine noodles are a type of pasta that is known for its flat, wide shape. Traditional Italian cuisine often uses this type of noodle in dishes like Fettuccine Alfredo and Chicken Fettuccine. To cook this type of pasta, you will need a pot of boiling water, salt, and oil.

Instructions

1. Fill a large pot with cold water, and bring it to a boil over high heat.

2. When the water is boiling, add a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of oil to the pot.

3. Reduce the heat to medium-high, and add the fettuccine noodles to the boiling water.

4. Stir the noodles occasionally to keep them from sticking together. Cook them for 8-10 minutes, or until the noodles are al dente.

5. Once the noodles are cooked, drain the pot and transfer the noodles to a serving dish.

Tips

• If you are using homemade fresh fettuccine noodles, reduce the cooking time to about 5 minutes.

• For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of butter to the boiling water.

• If you plan on adding the noodles to a sauce, reserve some of the cooking liquid to thin out the sauce.

• You can also cook the noodles in a skillet over medium heat. This will reduce the cooking time to about 5 minutes.

• If you are not serving the noodles immediately, rinse them with cold water to stop the cooking process.
