Ingredients

– 2 duck breasts
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Optional: herbs, spices, honey, and/or garlic for seasoning
– Optional: cooking oil, butter, or fat

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Pat the duck breasts dry with a paper towel, then season both sides with salt and pepper. Feel free to use other herbs, spices, honey, or garlic to add additional flavor.

3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil, butter, or fat to the pan.

4. Place the duck breasts skin side down in the hot skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.

5. Flip the duck breasts over and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

6. Transfer the duck breasts to an oven-safe baking dish or sheet.

7. Roast in the oven for 8-10 minutes, until the internal temperature of the duck breast reaches 145°F (63°C).

8. Allow the duck breasts to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips

– To ensure that your duck breasts are cooked evenly, use a meat thermometer to check the temperature.

– If the duck breasts are cooking too quickly, reduce the heat and add a little more fat to the skillet.

– For a richer flavor, baste the duck breasts with a mixture of honey, butter, and herbs while they’re roasting in the oven.

– For a crispier skin, finish the duck breasts off by searing them in a hot skillet after they’ve been cooked in the oven.
