How To Cook Frozen Crawfish

All you need to know about: How To Cook Frozen Crawfish.

Instructions

1. Start by thawing the frozen crawfish. You can place the crawfish in a large bowl and add cold water to it, or place the frozen crawfish in the refrigerator for a few hours.

2. Once the crawfish have thawed, rinse them in a colander and discard any that have a foul odor or appear discolored.

3. Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the crawfish. Add a seafood boil seasoning, such as Old Bay, to the water and bring the water to a rolling boil.

4. Add the crawfish to the boiling water, cover the pot, and let the crawfish cook for about 5 minutes.

5. After 5 minutes, turn off the heat and let the crawfish sit in the pot for an additional 6 to 8 minutes.

6. Drain the crawfish in a colander and transfer them to a bowl or platter.

7. Serve your cooked crawfish with melted butter, cocktail sauce, and lemon wedges.

Tips

1. When selecting frozen crawfish, look for ones that are still partially frozen, as they are the freshest.

2. If you want to give your crawfish more flavor, add additional ingredients to the boiling water, such as garlic, onion, celery, bay leaves, and lemon wedges.

3. To make your cooked crawfish spicier, add additional hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the melted butter.

4. For the best results, eat your cooked crawfish the same day it is cooked.
