How To Cook Whole Chicken In Crockpot

Cooking a whole chicken in the crockpot is an easy and delicious way to enjoy a home-cooked meal. With just a few simple ingredients, you can have a delicious and flavorful meal without too much fuss. Here’s how to cook a whole chicken in the crockpot:

Ingredients

– Whole chicken
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1/2 cup of chicken broth
– 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon of dried thyme

Instructions

1. Begin by prepping the chicken. Remove the giblets and any other pieces of fat from the inside of the cavity. Rinse the chicken with cold water, and then pat it dry with paper towels.

2. Generously season the outside of the chicken with salt and pepper.

3. Place the chicken in the crockpot. Pour the chicken broth into the crockpot, around the chicken.

4. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried thyme. Rub the butter mixture all over the outside of the chicken.

5. Cover the crockpot and cook the chicken on low for 8-10 hours, or on high for 4-5 hours.

6. When the chicken is done cooking, it should be golden brown and cooked through. Use a thermometer to check that the chicken’s internal temperature is at least 165°F.

7. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
