– 1 boneless steak (1-1 1/2 inches thick)
– 2 tablespoons of oil, such as vegetable, olive, or canola oil
– Salt and pepper to taste


1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Heat a cast iron skillet on the stove over medium-high heat until it is hot.

3. Pat your steak dry with a paper towel, then season with salt and pepper.

4. Add the oil to the skillet and swirl it around to coat the bottom.

5. Place the steak in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until it develops a nice char.

6. Flip the steak over and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

7. Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the steak is cooked to your desired doneness.

8. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
