Ingredients

– 2 sirloin steaks, each 8 ounces
– 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
– 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
– 1 tablespoon of olive oil
– 2 tablespoons of butter
– 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic

Instructions

1. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Season the sirloin steaks on both sides with the salt and pepper.

3. Add the olive oil to the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom.

4. Place the steaks in the skillet and cook for about 4 minutes, or until a dark brown crust has formed.

5. Flip the steaks over and reduce the heat to medium.

6. Add the butter and garlic to the skillet and baste the steaks with the butter mixture.

7. Cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, or until the steaks reach the desired doneness.

8. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
