How To Cook Sirloin Steak On Stove

All you need to know about: How To Cook Sirloin Steak On Stove.

Preparing the Steak

The first step in cooking a sirloin steak is to prepare the steak. Start by taking the steak out of the refrigerator and letting it sit on the counter for 30 minutes to bring it to room temperature. This will help the steak cook evenly. Next, season the steak. Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the steak.

Cooking the Steak

Now that the steak is prepared, it’s time to start cooking. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the skillet is hot, add a tablespoon of oil. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the steak in the skillet. Let the steak cook for 3-4 minutes until it’s nicely browned. Flip the steak and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Checking the Doneness

Once the steak has cooked for 3-4 minutes on each side, check the doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak. The USDA recommends an internal temperature of 145°F for medium-rare. If the steak needs to cook longer, reduce the heat to medium and cook for a few more minutes.

Resting the Steak

Once the steak has reached the desired doneness, take it off the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes. This will help the steak stay juicy and tender. After 10 minutes, the steak is ready to be served. Enjoy!
