Ingredients
1 lb round steak
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Pat the steak dry and season with salt and pepper.
3. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Add the steak and brown on both sides, about 4 minutes per side.
5. Transfer the steak to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
6. Add the onion to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, until softened.
7. Add the tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper and stir to combine.
8. Pour the tomato mixture over the steak.
9. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until the steak is fork tender.
10. Serve the steak with the tomato sauce.
