Ingredients

– 1 Ribeye Steak
– 1 tablespoon of olive oil
– Salt
– Pepper
– 1 teaspoon of butter

Instructions

1. Take the steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 15-30 minutes before cooking.

2. Preheat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.

3. Rub the steak with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

4. Once the pan is hot, add the steak to the pan and let it cook for 3-4 minutes until a brown crust forms.

5. Flip the steak over and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

6. Add 1 teaspoon of butter to the pan and use a spoon to baste the steak with the melted butter for 1-2 minutes.

7. Once the steak is cooked to your desired temperature, remove from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
