How To Cook Porterhouse Steak

Porterhouse Steaks are cut from the shortloin on the cow, and are known for being one of the most flavorful cuts of beef. Follow this recipe for a delicious, juicy steak every time.

Ingredients

– Porterhouse Steak
– Salt and Pepper
– Olive Oil
– Butter
– Garlic Cloves
– Optional: Fresh Herbs

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Pat the steak dry with paper towels.

3. Generously season the steak with salt and pepper on both sides.

4. Heat a large cast iron skillet over high heat.

5. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan and add the steak.

6. Cook the steak for 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown.

7. Add the butter, garlic cloves, and optional herbs to the pan.

8. Spoon the butter mixture over the steak and cook for an additional minute.

9. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook for 8-12 minutes, or until steak reaches an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare.

10. Remove from the oven and let the steak rest for 10 minutes before serving.
