How To Cook A Tomahawk Steak On The Grill

All you need to know about: How To Cook A Tomahawk Steak On The Grill.

Preparing and Marinating the Tomahawk Steak

Before you start grilling your tomahawk steak, you need to prepare it. Start by unwrapping the steak and patting it dry with a paper towel. This will help it to cook evenly and ensure that it gets a nice char on the outside.

Next, season the steak with a mixture of your favorite herbs and spices. Salt and pepper are a must, but you can also add other herbs like rosemary, thyme, and oregano. Once the steak is seasoned, place it in a shallow dish with a few tablespoons of olive oil. The oil will help to keep the steak moist and flavorful during the cooking process. Allow the steak to marinate for at least an hour.

Cooking the Tomahawk Steak on the Grill

Once your steak is marinated and ready to go, it’s time to fire up the grill. Preheat your grill to high heat, then place the steak directly over the heat source. Close the lid of the grill and let the steak cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Make sure to check the steak often to make sure it isn’t burning.

Once the steak has cooked for 4 to 5 minutes, flip it over and close the lid of the grill. Let the steak cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes on the other side. Once the steak has cooked on both sides, remove it from the heat and transfer it to a cutting board.

Resting and Carving the Tomahawk Steak

Once your steak is cooked, it’s important to let it rest for at least 5 minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, giving you a juicy and flavorful steak. After the steak has rested, slice it into thin slices and serve.

Enjoy!
