How To Cook A Steak In Oven

All you need to know about: How To Cook A Steak In Oven.

Step 1: Choose Your Steak

When selecting your steak, it’s important to consider the type of steak, the thickness of the cut, and the quality of the cut. Different types of steak, such as ribeye or sirloin, respond differently to cooking. Thicker cuts are better for pan-searing or grilling, while thinner cuts are better for oven-cooking. For oven-cooking, you’ll want to select a steak that is about an inch thick. Additionally, it’s important to purchase high-quality cuts of steak to ensure the best flavor and texture.

Step 2: Preheat The Oven and Prepare The Steak

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oven is preheating, season the steak with a generous amount of salt and pepper. Rub the seasonings into both sides of the steak. If desired, you can also add other herbs and seasonings, such as garlic powder or paprika, to further enhance the flavor.

Step 3: Place The Steak in The Oven

Once the oven is preheated, place the steak on a baking sheet or roasting pan. Make sure the baking sheet or roasting pan is large enough to accommodate the steak without overcrowding. Place the steak in the center of the oven and bake for 10 minutes.

Step 4: Check The Internal Temperature of The Steak

After 10 minutes, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak. For a medium-rare steak, the internal temperature should be 130-135 degrees Fahrenheit. For a medium steak, the internal temperature should be 140-145 degrees Fahrenheit. For a well-done steak, the internal temperature should be 155-165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 5: Let The Steak Rest

Once the steak has reached the desired internal temperature, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, resulting in a more flavorful steak.

Step 6: Serve The Steak

Finally, slice the steak and serve it with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!
