How To Cook A Steak In Cast Iron

Cooking steak in a cast iron skillet is a simple yet delicious way to make a great steak dinner. This method of cooking steak will give your steak a charred, flavorful crust while keeping the steak juicy and tender. Here’s how to do it:

– 1 (1″ thick) steak (ribeye or strip)
– 2 tablespoons of oil (olive, vegetable, or canola)
– Salt and pepper to taste

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

2. While the oven is preheating, heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat on the stove.

3. When the skillet is hot, add the oil to the pan and heat until it is shimmering.

4. Season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.

5. Place the steak in the hot skillet and let cook for 2-3 minutes.

6. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and let cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the steak reaches an internal temperature of 130°F for medium-rare.
