Step 1: Preparing the Steak

Before you begin cooking, you’ll need to prepare the steak. Start by removing the steak from the refrigerator and letting it come to room temperature. This will help ensure that the steak cooks evenly.

Once the steak has reached room temperature, season it generously with salt and pepper. You can also add other herbs and spices, such as garlic powder or paprika, if desired.

Step 2: Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place a cast iron skillet in the oven while it preheats. Once the oven reaches temperature, carefully remove the skillet and place it on the stovetop.
