How To Cook Steaks On The Grill

All you need to know about: How To Cook Steaks On The Grill.

Preparing to Grill Your Steaks

Start by selecting the right cut of steak for grilling. A cut that is flavorful and has enough fat marbled through it to keep it moist during cooking. A ribeye, T-bone, or porterhouse steak are all good choices.

Remove the steaks from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.

Seasoning the Steaks

When you are ready to season the steaks, pat them dry with paper towels. This will help the seasoning stick better.

Season the steaks generously on both sides with salt and pepper. You can also add other dry seasonings or herbs such as garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, or thyme.

Prepping the Grill

Clean and oil the grill grates before cooking the steaks. This will help the steaks to not stick to the grill grates.

Preheat the grill to high heat. If you are using a gas grill, preheat it to 500-550°F. For a charcoal grill, wait until the charcoal is white hot.

Cooking the Steaks

When the grill is hot, place the steaks on the grill grates. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. If you are looking for a more well-done steak, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes per side.

Once the steaks are cooked to your desired doneness, remove them from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the steak.

Serving the Steaks

Serve the steaks with your favorite sides. A simple salad or grilled vegetables are always a great choice. Enjoy!
