How To Cook Shrimp Scampi

Shrimp scampi is a classic Italian dish that is easy to make and delicious. It’s a great way to serve seafood and can be made with either fresh or frozen shrimp. The following recipe serves 4 people.


-1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-4 tablespoons butter
-4 cloves garlic, minced
-2 tablespoons olive oil
-1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
-2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
-2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
-Salt and pepper to taste


1. Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add garlic and cook, stirring, for one minute.
3. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp are pink and just cooked through.
4. Add the white wine or chicken broth and lemon juice and bring to a simmer.
5. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
6. Remove from heat and stir in the parsley.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
