How To Cook Rib Eye Roast

Rib Eye Roast is a delicious, succulent cut of beef, perfect for a special occasion or Sunday family dinner. Here’s how to make a perfectly cooked rib eye roast:

Step 1: Preparing the Roast

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Pat your roast dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper on all sides. If you want to add additional herbs and spices to the roast, now is the time. Garlic, rosemary, and thyme are all good choices.

Step 2: Sear the Roast

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon or two of olive oil and place the roast in the skillet to sear. Leave the roast in the skillet for about five minutes on each side or until it is golden brown.

Step 3: Roast the Rib Eye

Transfer the rib eye to a roasting pan and place it in the preheated oven. Roast the rib eye for approximately 15-20 minutes per pound or until it reaches an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 4: Let the Roast Rest

Once the rib eye reaches 135 degrees Fahrenheit, remove it from the oven and transfer it to a cutting board. Cover it loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Step 5: Slice and Serve

Once the rib eye is rested, you’re ready to slice it and serve. Slice the roast against the grain for the most tender pieces of meat. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
