– 1 eye of the round roast
– Salt and pepper
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 onion, chopped
– 1 cup beef broth
– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 2 tablespoons butter


1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Generously season the roast with salt and pepper.

3. Heat the oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat.

4. Add the roast to the skillet and brown it on all sides, about 5 minutes total.

5. Remove the roast from the skillet and set aside.

6. Lower the heat to medium and add the garlic and onion to the skillet. Cook until soft and lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

7. Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and stir to combine.

8. Return the roast to the skillet and transfer to the preheated oven.

9. Roast until the internal temperature of the roast reaches 135°F (57°C), about 1 hour.

10. Remove the roast from the skillet and set aside to rest.

11. Place the skillet on the stovetop over medium-high heat.

12. In a small bowl, mix together the flour and butter until it forms a paste.

13. Whisk the paste into the skillet and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.

14. Slice the roast and serve with the sauce. Enjoy!
