1 (12 to 14-pound) turkey, thawed if frozen
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste


1. Preheat the electric roaster to 325 degrees F.

2. Remove the giblets and neck from the turkey cavity and discard or save for another use. Rinse the turkey with cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

3. Rub the outside of the turkey with the olive oil.

4. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, poultry seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper.

5. Rub the butter mixture over the outside of the turkey.

6. Place the turkey in the electric roaster and cover.

7. Cook the turkey for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh reads 165 degrees F.

8. Remove the turkey from the electric roaster and let rest for at least 15 minutes before carving. Enjoy!
