White Rice How To Cook

All you need to know about: White Rice How To Cook.

How to Cook White Rice

Cooking white rice is a simple process that can be done in a variety of ways. Whether you’re looking for a light and fluffy side dish or something a bit more decadent, there is a white rice recipe out there to fit your needs. Here are a few easy methods to cook white rice at home.

Stovetop Method

This is the most traditional way to cook white rice. Start by measuring out one cup of uncooked white rice, and rinse it in a fine mesh strainer until the water runs clear. Place the rinsed rice in a medium-sized pot with two cups of cold water. Bring the water and rice to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer and cover the pot. Cook for 18-20 minutes, or until all of the water is absorbed. When the rice is done, fluff it with a fork and serve.

Pressure Cooker Method

Using a pressure cooker is a great way to get perfectly cooked white rice in a fraction of the time it takes on the stovetop. Start by pouring one cup of rinsed white rice into the pressure cooker. Add one cup of cold water and lock the lid securely into place. Select “Rice” and set the timer for five minutes. When the timer is done, allow the pressure cooker to release the steam naturally, then carefully open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.

Baked White Rice

For a heartier and more flavorful white rice dish, you can bake it in the oven. Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. In a medium-sized pot, bring one cup of rinsed white rice and two cups of cold water to a boil. Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and simmer for five minutes. Transfer the pot to the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
