– 1 cup of white rice
– 1¾ cups of water
– 1 tablespoon of butter (optional)


1. Measure out 1 cup of white rice and pour it into a medium sized pot.

2. Fill the pot with 1¾ cups of cold water.

3. Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring the water to a boil.

4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.

5. Allow the rice to simmer for 18 minutes.

6. After 18 minutes, remove the pot from the heat and fluff the rice with a fork.

7. If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon of butter for added flavor.

8. Serve the rice warm. Enjoy!

Tips and Tricks

– If you want to make the rice even fluffier, you can add a teaspoon of olive oil to the pot before boiling.
