Ingredients and Materials

– 1 cup of long-grain white rice
– 2 cups of water
– 1 teaspoon of salt (optional)
– A medium to large saucepan with a lid
– A wooden spoon

Instructions

2. Add 2 cups of water to the saucepan. If desired, you can add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water.

3. Place the saucepan over medium-high heat.

4. Bring the water to a boil. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with the lid.

5. Simmer the rice for 15-20 minutes. Do not remove the lid at any point during the cooking process.

6. Once the rice has finished cooking, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the rice rest for 5 minutes.

7. Uncover the saucepan, fluff the rice with a fork, and serve.

Tips

– For extra flavor, you can add spices, herbs, or other ingredients to the rice before cooking, such as garlic, onion, or bay leaves.

– For a firmer texture, use slightly less water.

– For a softer texture, use slightly more water.

– If you find that the rice is still hard after cooking, add a few tablespoons of water, cover the saucepan, and let the rice steam for an additional 5 minutes.
