How To Cook Basmati Brown Rice

All you need to know about: How To Cook Basmati Brown Rice.

1 cup of basmati brown rice
2 cups of water

1. Begin by rinsing the basmati brown rice in a fine mesh strainer. Rinsing the rice before cooking helps to remove any excess starch from the grains, resulting in a fluffier and more flavorful final dish.

2. Transfer the rice to a medium sized pot and add two cups of water. Give the pot a good stir to combine the rice and water, then bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

3. Once the water has reached a full boil, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid and let the rice simmer for 25-30 minutes.

4. After 25-30 minutes, turn off the heat and let the pot sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes. This will allow the rice to finish cooking and absorb any remaining water.

5. After 10 minutes, remove the lid and fluff the rice with a fork. Your basmati brown rice is now ready to serve!

• For a more flavorful final dish, try adding a tablespoon of butter or olive oil to the pot before cooking.
• To make sure the rice cooks evenly, stir the pot a few times during the 25-30 minute simmering period.
• Make sure to use a lid that fits snugly on the pot. This will help the steam to stay inside, resulting in a more flavorful and tender dish.
