Ingredients

– 1-2 potatoes
– Salt
– Optional: butter, herbs, spices

Instructions

1. Wash and scrub the potatoes. Peel the potatoes if desired.

2. Cut the potatoes into the desired size and shape.

3. Place the potatoes in a pot and cover with cold water.

4. Add a pinch of salt to the water.

5. Bring the water to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

6. Drain the potatoes and serve.

7. For added flavour, mix in butter, herbs, spices or any other desired ingredients.

Tips

– Boiled potatoes can be used for many recipes, such as mashed potatoes and potato salad.
– To check if the potatoes are cooked, insert a fork into the potatoes and if the fork goes in easily, the potatoes are done.
– Roasted potatoes can be cooked in the oven at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 30 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
– Baked potatoes can be cooked in the oven at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 45 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the flesh is soft.
– For a healthier option, steam the potatoes instead of boiling.
