How To Cook A Pork Belly

Pork belly is a delicious cut of pork that’s becoming increasingly popular. It’s usually sold in thick slabs and can be prepared in a variety of ways. Here is a simple recipe for cooking pork belly that yields a delicious and succulent dish.


• 4 lb. pork belly
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon ground cloves
• 2 tablespoons sea salt
• 2 tablespoons black pepper
• ¼ cup honey
• ¼ cup brown sugar
• ½ cup apple cider vinegar


1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. Rub the pork belly with olive oil and season with the cinnamon, cloves, salt, and pepper.

3. Place the pork belly in a roasting pan, fat side up.

4. Bake for 1 hour.

5. In a small bowl, mix together the honey, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.

6. After the hour is up, remove the pork belly from the oven and brush it evenly with the honey-vinegar mixture.

7. Turn the oven up to 375°F and return the pork belly to the oven.

8. Bake for 15 minutes more.

9. Remove the pork belly from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
