How To Cook Steel Cut Oats

– 1 cup steel cut oats
– 2 1/2 cups water
– Pinch of salt

1. Bring the water to a boil in a medium pot.
2. Once boiling, add the steel cut oats, stirring to combine.
3. Turn the heat down to low and allow the oats to simmer.
4. Stir occasionally, and cook for approximately 20 minutes.
5. Add a pinch of salt and optional ingredients (cinnamon, sugar, honey, milk, nuts, dried fruit).
6. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
